FIVE ON YOUR SIDE COMES WITH A CHERRY ON TOP!

June 27, 2014: Looking Back

It might appear that I've given Dave Cherry a rough time in this blog. I suppose I have. But today, just about 11 months after Dave published his story about the goings on at Camelback Consign & Design, I think it only fair to acknowledge that he was the first newsman with the courage and energy to investigate the claims of that firm's unhappy clients. His work helped make me and others aware of the fact that we weren't the only one's having trouble with that firm.
Today, we know that Mike Burns has been subpoenaed by the Attorney General's office and that an assistant AG has been appointed to handle the case.
Sure, it might have happened, sooner or later, without Dave Cherry's able work. Still, today we know that the gears of government are slowly grinding out the chaff in search of precious kernels of fact.
Should there be enough of those kernels, we can hope that the bread of justice will be produced. When we break that bread together, all are nourished.
Thank you, Dave Cherry. And God bless you!
Sincerely & Respectfully,

Glenn S. Michaels

Sure, I investigated Camelback Consign and Design online before I signed my contract on July 9th. The BBB website had one intensely angry review from another consignor. But you know, I figured any business was entitled to one angry client. Who among us has only friends?

Otherwise, I found nothing. I didn't realize how hard one has to work to dig up dirt... at the time. For some reason, I thought fecal matter floated to the top, but I wrong about that, too.

Anyway, Dave Cherry of Channel 5 TV (5 on Your Side) just happened to write a story about Camelback Consign and Design - Proceed cautiously with any consignment store - a few weeks after I signed a 90-day contract with that firm.

Here's how it starts....

DON'T KID YOURSELF.
Mike Burns wasn't born yesterday. He wasn't born on the Fourth of July, either. NOPE. Mike Burns was born on 9/11 in 1952.
He was destined.
Don't forget to tip a hat to Ms. Indispensable, Vera Manuz, either. Where would Mike be without her?

I don't know if the truth will set you free. But fuss loud enough with a big 'nough bunch a friends and I swear folks 'll do near anything to get you to shut up. Fast as they can.
