To my surprise, Camelback Consign and Design didn't open for business as usual on Sunday. I imagine it wasn't a coincidence. There are typically several business associates in the store.

Nonetheless, I marched back and forth in front of the building from approximately 12:30 PM to 3:30 PM.

Quite a few folks tried the door and walked away. Several people drove by and asked for my story.

One older gentleman asked, "He hasn't paid you, either? Has he declared bankruptcy?"

I also spoke with a lady who had delivered multiple items for appraisal on Saturday. I think she had expected to meet with the owner, Michael Burns on Sunday. I wished her luck.

It is not my purpose to drive this firm out of business. I merely want to be paid what I am owed. And it wouldn't hurt if the owner reformed his business practices to conform to common standards of ethical conduct. I've spent months begging him to do the right thing. Saturday and Sunday, per Thoreau, I voted with my feet.

By the way, Norma took the photos.

P.S. My friend, artist Jim Houser drove by around 3 PM and offered a little moral support, bless his heart. Thanks, Jim.

DON'T KID YOURSELF.
Mike Burns wasn't born yesterday. He wasn't born on the Fourth of July, either. NOPE. Mike Burns was born on 9/11 in 1952.
He was destined.
Don't forget to tip a hat to Ms. Indispensable, Vera Manuz, either. Where would Mike be without her?

I don't know if the truth will set you free. But fuss loud enough with a big 'nough bunch a friends and I swear folks 'll do near anything to get you to shut up. Fast as they can.
